Matthews USA Brings Jason Osborne into the Coaching Ranks

Current Gardner-Webb University Men’s Associate Head coach Jason Osborne will be joining Matthews USA for the 2008-2009 season.  Coach Osborne is in his fifth year at Gardner-Webb University after joining men’s soccer coaching staff in the summer of 2005.
 
Osborne’s completed his playing career at Stetson University where he was named All-Atlantic Sun Conference four consecutive years. After earning second-team honors as a freshman, Osborne earned first team status in each of his final three seasons in the league and was a NSCAA Second Team All-Region pick as a junior and senior.
 
While at Stetson, Osborne helped them qualify for the A-Sun Championship in each of his four seasons, including a finals appearance in 2002. He was twice named to the A-Sun All-Tournament Team.  The Leicester, England native finished his career tied for second in school history with 19 career assists.

Executive Director of Soccer Operations Gary Hamill praised Coach Osborne. "We are very excited at Jason joining the Matthews USA staff.  His coaching credentials and abilities are top class and the young players are going to enjoy working with him.  His College experience will also be valuable with players in the club seeking guidance and advice as they look towards playing at the next level."
