An Update from the Executive Director
4/1/2008
Dear MUSA Parents and Players,
As we move into the month of April and the final run in to the season I wanted to take this opportunity to communicate some important information concerning our club and its future direction. When I accepted the position as Executive Director of Soccer Operations back in January, I had the challenge of developing our club into a “full service” organization that would fit the needs of our current members and that of an ever-growing population in our area. This obviously cannot be accomplished overnight but becomes a work in progress over a period of time.
My first task was to develop a quality coaching staff and management team to help steer us in the right direction. I feel at this stage that we are now in good hands to begin the move forward and upwards in our goal to provide a club that helps grow, challenge, compete and succeed in our mission to provide a full service club to you our members. The structure that we have developed and will continue to develop provides us with a variety of backgrounds, experience and expertise in all areas of youth soccer that cannot be surpassed by too many others. Our management team is committed to providing a professional environment for the learning and growth of our club players from micro’s all the way to the collegiate prospects. Under their direction, we will begin to form the second tier of our management team that will include assistant directors and/or age group coordinators. We will have that group in place by the end of the month.
Our try-out committee has had several meetings over the past few months and I also wanted to share some information with you on the outcome of those meetings. We will be conducting one centralized, consolidated tryout for all teams both Challenge and Classic at Colonel Beatty Park May 19th – 22nd. More information on times is posted on the Tryouts page. Also, please see the team selection format information there as well. We will conduct an informational meeting on April 17th to give you an opportunity to discuss any questions you may have pertaining to our tryouts, direction and future plans for the club.
Please let me know if I can answer any questions you may have between now and the end of the season and I look forward to our continued success and the exciting direction our club is heading in.
All the best,
Gary Hamill
