Matthews USA is proud to announce Gary Hoilett has joined our club coaching staff as Boy’s Director of Coaching for the 2008-09 season. Coach Hoilett is currently the men’s and women’s head coach at Charlotte Catholic High School . Since 1997, his teams have won five State Championships and made eleven State Final appearances. He has also been named by his peers the North Carolina High School Coach of the Year 3 times during his tenure at Charlotte Catholic.

Gary is also currently an assistant coach to the men’s and women’s soccer program at Wingate University, where the men’s team qualified for the 2007 NCAA Division II tournament and finished 16-5-1.

Hoilett is veteran of the Charlotte area club soccer scene, coaching for 11 years at Charlotte United Futbol Club, where he served as Director of Coaching for the women’s program for 4 years, and most recently serving as the men’s and women’s U15-U18 Director of Coaching at South Charlotte Soccer Association.

Coach Hoilett holds a NSCAA National Diploma.

Executive Director Gary Hamill said, "It makes perfect sense to have Gary join us at Matthews USA. With him working along side me at the University, I also wanted him to be part of our growing plans for the club. It’s important for any Director to be surrounded with people you know well and trust. This was a no-brainer for Gary and myself."
