Matthews USA is pleased to announce the appointment of Gary Hamill to the role of Executive Director of Soccer Operations. In this role Gary will lead and direct all soccer programs for the club. He will provide leadership in the development of our soccer offerings from Recreation through Premier. Gary has served as Trainer and Director of Coaching for the past 3 years for MUSA . He brings a wealth of international and collegiate soccer coaching experience and currently serves as Wingate University’s associate athletic director, director of soccer and head coach for the men’s soccer team.  Hamill holds a UEFA “A” License and an NSCAA Premier Diploma.

In his 14 years at Wingate University, Gary Hamill has led the soccer program to an overall record of 193-96-26, six conference titles, two NCAA sweet 16 appearance, and has been selected Conference Coach of the Year four times.

Hamill was also named region Coach of the Year in 1993 and was National Coach of the Year that same year. His winning percentage ranks him in the top ten active coaches in NCAA Division II. Hamill’s commitment to team development is only surpassed by his player development. His players’ honors include five Conference Players of the Year, four Conference Freshman of the Year, eleven All-Americans, 39 All-Region and 92 All-Conference selections.
